Vogue got a very special birthday present this year. Her Royal Highness, Kate Middleton, will grace the magazine's centenary cover in June — and it's the first magazine shoot she's ever done.
"It's a huge honour and incredibly exciting for us to have HRH The Duchess of Cambridge featuring on the cover of British Vogue and as part of our centenary issue," British Vogue's editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman said.
The magazine unveiled the photos on its Instagram account on Saturday, and Kensington Palace shared them as well. Acclaimed photographer Josh Olins took the photographs.
Despite it being the Duchess' first sitting for a magazine, she was a "natural," Olins said.
Two of the portraits will also be on display at London's National Portrait Gallery, according to Vogue. "Josh has captured the Duchess exactly as she is - full of life, with a great sense of humour, thoughtful and intelligent, and in fact, very beautiful," the director of the gallery Nicholas Cullinan told Vogue.
