Rescuer In Grand Bend Smashes Car Window With Rock To Free Dog

The dog's owner wasn't angry about the damage to his BMW.

Who let the dog out?

A man armed with a rock, that's who.

Global News reports a man in the southern Ontario community of Grand Bend destroyed a BMW's window on Saturday with a "large rock" to free a dog locked inside.

Temperatures that day reached up to 30 degrees and the owners were nowhere to be found, according to Will Costa, who filmed footage of the rescue.

β€œA gentleman in the blue – which you see in the video – he tried pulling down the window, there was a small crack in the sunroof, but nothing was happening,” Costa told Global News.

The owners showed up almost an hour after the dog was freed, he said.

CTV News reports the owner of the car wasn't mad about the smashed window. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating.
