Anton Yelchin Dead: Celebrities Pay Tribute To 'Star Trek' Actor

Rest in peace.

Anton Yelchin is loved.

After news broke that the "Star Trek" actor died Sunday morning in a "freak" car accident, Yelchin's friends, fellow actors and colleagues went online to pay tribute to the 27-year-old.

The "Like Crazy" actor was accidentally killed by his own car, after it rolled backwards down his driveway and pinned him against a brick mailbox pillar and a security fence at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles.

While Yelchin was mostly known for playing Chekov in the "Star Trek" reboot film series, the Russian-born actor also had standout roles in films such as "Like Crazy," "Alpha Dog," "Charlie Bartlett," "The Beaver" and most recently, the thriller "Green Room."

Yelchin will be seen reprising his role as Chekov in "Star Trek Beyond," which hits theatres in July.

Many of his "Star Trek" colleagues took to Twitter to display their shock and sadness over his death, including John Cho, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto and director J.J. Abrams.
