Coco Rocha Named Brand Director Of Nomad Mgmt Modelling Agency

She will act as a "big sister" of sorts to the new models.

Alongside her husband, James Conran, the 27-year-old Canadian supermodel joins Nomad Mgmt founder, Damon Rutland, and majority stakeholder and creative director, Roman Young (who discovered Rocha when she was 14), where she will serve as a brand director and provide mentorship and career guidance, according to WWD.

The mother of Ioni Conran will also be represented by Nomad, leaving her previous agency, IMG. WME/IMG, however, will continue to represent Rocha in her entertainment deals.

Coco is known for her advocacy of model rights and was one of the first models to speak out on the pressures of body image within the industry. She says she will take her knowledge and experience from her 14-year career to act as a "big sister" to new talent.

Coco Rocha attends the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards on June 6, 2016 in New York City.

"Having worked with many of the world's top modelling agencies for the last decade, I've seen what works and doesn't work in managing a model's career," Rocha told WWD. "In the past I've openly appealed to industry leaders for more ethical treatment of underage models, transparent accounting practices and I've spoken out regarding pressures and unhealthy expectations too often projected on models working today."

She continued, "I’m excited to be the big sister to these girls. If they have any questions, they’ll hopefully come to me and I’ll give them the best answers and best guidance I possibly can.”
