Mick Jagger Expecting Eighth Child With Girlfriend Melanie Hamrick

The Jagger family is about to get even bigger.

Mick Jagger’s family is about to get even bigger.

The Rolling Stone frontman is expecting his eighth child with his 29-year-old girlfriend, ballerina Melanie Hamrick. This means Jagger will become a dad again at the age of 72.

The rock legend is already a father to seven kids – Karis, Jade, Elizabeth, James, Georgia, Gabriel and Lucas – who are between the ages of 17 and 45. Jagger had his children from previous relationships with Marsha Hunt, Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and Luciana Gimenez Morad.

“These are siblings who share a notorious father, but they deal with each other in beautiful ways,” Hunt, the mother of Jagger’s eldest child, once said. “I remember standing up and saying something important: that modern life has created new kinds of families, and the crucial thing is to do the best you can with that...Mick is a grandfather, and he's a good one.”

Jagger has five grandchildren and became a great-grandfather in 2014. That year, his granddaughter Assisi, the daughter of Jade Jagger, gave birth to a baby girl.

The singer’s latest addition will be the first child for his girlfriend, who he has been dating since 2014. No other details about Hamrick’s pregnancy have been revealed.

Jagger’s baby news comes just two months after his Rolling Stone bandmate Ronnie Wood, 68, and his wife Sally Humphreys welcomed twin girls.
