Biggest Family In Britain Welcomes 19th Child

They swore their 18th would be their last.

If you thought Mick Jagger had a large family (seven kids, plus one on the way), think again! The title of Britain’s biggest family actually goes to the Radfords, who recently welcomed their 19th child.

Lancashire couple Sue and Noel Radford, of UK’s “16 Kids and Counting” fame, welcomed another baby girl on Sunday. The newest addition weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces.

“We are so thrilled to announce the safe arrival of our precious baby girl Phoebe Willow Radford,” the couple wrote on their blog. “The children are totally besotted with the newest member of the family.”

Baby Phoebe’s birth comes just over a year after the couple welcomed their youngest, Hallie Alphia Beau, in June 2015.

After Hallie was born, the couple vowed that she would be their last, but that dream was short lived. In January, 41-year-old Sue revealed that the family was expecting again. And now that little Phoebe is finally here, it seems the Radford’s are changing their tune.

“Phoebe is so beautiful and I am happy to have her here safely for now – but never say never,” the 41-year-old mom told UK newspaper The Sun.

Last month, dad Noel, 45, revealed his similar thoughts, saying: “If it happens it happens, that’s how we roll.”

The Radfords are now parents to 10 girls and nine boys: Chris, 27, Sophie, 22, Chloe, 21, Jack, 19, Daniel, 17, Luke, 15, Millie, 14, Katie, 13, James, 12, Ellie, 11, Aimee, ten, Josh, nine, Max, seven, Tilly, six, Oscar, four, Casper, three, Hallie, 13 months, and newborn Phoebe.

In 2014, the couple lost their son Alfie at 21 weeks.

Sue became pregnant for the first time at the age of 14. Despite her and her husband’s young age, the couple decided to keep the baby. The Radfords married four years later and welcomed their second child and continued to grow their family.

According to Mirror UK, the couple originally planned to have three kids, but they loved the experience of parenthood so much that they “kept going.”

Despite having such a large family – 21 members in total! – the Radfords, who own a successful bakery, manage to keep their kids happy and healthy. They even make sure to take them on a holiday once a year.

The Radford family is now on par with the biggest families in the U.S. and Canada. In the States, the Duggars, from Arkansas, have 19 kids and were featured on the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting.”

In Canada, the Collins of Peterborough, Ontario, are also known for having 19 kids. While mom Beatrice Collins passed away in 2010, she and her husband had an enormous family, with more than 50 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
