PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — One person is dead after a small plane crashed onto a street in Peterborough, Ont., early this morning. Police in the city about 140 kilometres east of Toronto say the incident is believed to involve a crime. The small Piper aircraft crashed just after 1 a.m. in Peterborough's south end (at High St. and Landsowne St.). The pilot, who was believed to be the only person on board the plane, was found dead by emergency crews. Police say the Transportation Safety Board will be attending the scene of the crash to help in determining just what brought the plane down. Police are also working to identify the person who died in the crash.
