A Vancouver man who got stuck on the roof of a house he was trying to break into called the cops to rescue him.

Police said in a press release that the 51-year-old was attempting to enter the residence through the skylight when he slipped down the roof and became stuck. He called 911 when he couldn't drop the 7.6 metres to the ground.

'Attractive invitation'

Firefighters eventually arrived and helped get the "crook off the roof."

“Even a skylight can be an attractive invitation to an agile cat burglar,” St. Sgt. Randy Fincham said in the release.

"This cat wisely chose to save one of his nine lives and called 9-1-1 for help."
