Commonly Mispronounced Words, According To Dictionary.com

We don't know how to pronounce quinoa either.

Can't pronounce quinoa? Don't worry, you're far from being the only one.

This week, Dictionary.com released its list of 30 commonly mispronounced words, so you can brush up on your (properly pronounced) vocabulary just in time for back to school. (Or, you know, another week at the office.)

Food-related words topped the list, with almond, caramel, croissant, espresso, quinoa, sherbet, turmeric, and Worcestershire making the cut. (Oof, that's a mouthful.) (No pun intended.)

According to reps for the site, the list was compiled based on internal data on the number of audio plays each word receives alongside lexicographer research.

Read on for the full list, and if you're still not sure whether you're pronouncing the words properly, head over to Dictionary.com for correct audio pronunciations.
