Editor's Pick: SkinCeuticals Physical Eye UV Defense SPF 50

Brilliant.

When it comes to primers, I'm pretty picky.

No matter how many I get sent to try out, I always stick to one — Benefit's POREfessional — mainly because it gives me that perfectly smooth base for makeup application.

However, when it comes to eye primers, I had yet to find a formula that I could commit to ... until now. And the craziest part? It technically isn't even a primer, it's a sunscreen for your eyes.

When I was first sent SkinCeuticals' Physical Eye UV Defense SPF 50, I was intrigued. Sunscreen for your eye area seemed like a pretty good idea, especially since the skin around your peepers is much thinner than the rest of your face, therefore making it subject to more sun damage.

Unlike most sunscreens, this one is tinted, and it is so smooth that it literally just glides over your skin. I find the tint works so well on me, I can get away without applying concealer on days that I want to wear less makeup. And for those times that I want to paint a full-face? It works as a killer base, making eyeshadow application a breeze.

My only advice is to not skimp out on your eye cream before applying this base, as it isn't very moisturizing and can cause some creping of the skin, especially since it has a matte finish.

Other than that, I've now found my go-to eye primer, all while getting the broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection my skin needs.

Brilliant.
