Drone Offers Bird's-Eye View Of Osprey Eating Dinner

The bird was perched on a power pole.

A Calgary home inspector discovered last week that the drone he uses to examine rooftops can also capture great shots of wildlife.

Ron McDougall spotted an osprey in the south Calgary neighbourhood of McKenzie Towne.

The bird was perched on a utility pole next to Deerfoot Trail, picking at a fish.

After trying to use his cell phone to capture the scene, he decided to give his drone a try.

McDougall says he made sure the drone was more than seven metres away from the bird while he filmed, as to not startle it.
