Coldplay Covers 'Pure Imagination' In Honour Of Gene Wilder

"What we'll see will defy explanation..."

Coldplay may have just added the perfect short cover to their Head Full of Dreams Tour setlist.

During their Monday night concert in Denver, Colorado, the British rock band performed a cover of the iconic "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" song "Pure Imagination," originally sung by the late Gene Wilder.

The short performance was made even more whimsical as confetti fell from the stage into the crowd.

Earlier in the day, Wilder's family announced the comedic actor passed away on Sunday from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was 83 years old.

The touching tribute is just one of many that have come out in the days since Wilder's death. From admirers to former co-stars and directors, Hollywood is mourning the loss of one of their own.
