Gisele Bundchen Tops Forbes' Highest-Paid Models List For 10th Year In A Row

Forbes admits "the majority of the list is overwhelmingly white and entirely 'straight-sized.'"

The Brazilian supermodel, who has graced the top spot on the list for 10 years in a row now, beat out the likes of Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when it came to gaining income from cosmetics, fragrance and campaign contracts.

According to the publication, Bündchen banked $30.5 million in thanks to fragrance and beauty deals with Chanel, Carolina Herrera and Pantene.

As for the "Insta-Rich" models (Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne), they placed fourth, sixth and seventh on the list, proving social media is a powerful tool in the modelling world.

Kendall had the biggest gains over the year, with her earnings increasing 150 per cent to $10 million over the past 12 months. She has her deals with Estée Lauder and Calvin Klein to thank for that. Oh, and of course, her 64.4 million followers.

But what this list is lacking? Diversity.

Save for the likes of Jasmine Tookes, Liu Wen and Joan Smalls, Forbes admits "the majority of the list is overwhelmingly white and entirely 'straight-sized'" blaming it on "the lack of inclusion on catwalks and in campaigns."

There are no plus-size or transgender models on the list either.

As also noted by Forbes, even though there is an increased effort by agencies to promote transgendered and plus-sized models, "these women book editorial shoots but still rarely ink the lucrative long-term deals that result in six-to-seven figure paydays."

Yes, even with "size sexy" model Ashley Graham landing a gig on America's Next Top Model and transgender beauty Andreja Pejić getting a big deal with cosmetics company Make Up For Ever, it still wasn't enough to earn them spots on the list.

Here's to hoping we see a more diverse set of models on the list in 2017.
