'Game Of Thrones' Officially Has The Most Emmys Ever

Is anyone surprised?

What a night!

HBO's hit series "Game Of Thrones" officially has the most Emmy awards, beating out "Frasier" (37 wins) with 38 wins in total.

A majority of the cast joined author George R.R. Martin and show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss on stage at the 2016 Emmy Awards on Sunday, to pick up their award for Outstanding Drama Series.

"We have the best cast that’s I think ever been assembled,” Benioff said during the award ceremony, Time reports.

And according to Entertainment Weekly, it seems like we'll just have to wait almost a year before we get to see more of Jon Snow and Arya Stark in action. The show won't return to HBO until summer 2017.

“Now that winter has arrived on 'Game of Thrones,' executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” Casey Bloys, of HBO, told the site. “Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule.”
