Leslie Jones' Emmys Surprise Included Jokes About Her Privacy Hack, Twitter Trolls

The comedian got the last laugh over her attackers, and she did it with class.

The most boring part of any awards show typically involves the accountants, or sacred tabulators of the precious entertainment-related data. Together, they hold all of the secrets regarding the night's biggest wins, but lack in the star power otherwise seen at the ceremony.

Whereas Martin Short used the "accountants" to spoof Ellen's "Oscar selfie" with the "least RT'd selfie ever" at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards, the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards opted to up the ante with comedian and Twitter star Leslie Jones on Sunday night.

Jones joined the accountants onstage at the Emmys, but quickly stole the spotlight, and joked about the calibre of secrets they were guarding.

"Y'all protecting something nobody is trying to steal," said Jones, speaking to the representatives from Ernst & Young.

"Don’t nobody want to know about boring Emmy secrets. But since you good at keeping things safe, I got a job for you: MY TWITTER ACCOUNT. Put that in the vault, please."

Jones was referring, of course, to the racist Twitter hate and online harassment she faced earlier this year. The 49-year-old "Saturday Night Live" star became a target of social media attacks due to what many believe was the prominence of her role in the 2016 version of "Ghostbusters."

Barely a month after she took a self-imposed hiatus from her online accounts— and following a stint at the 2016 Rio Olympics as NBC's special social media correspondent — her personal website was hacked and private photos and her confidential information was published on the site without her consent. Jones' website was quickly taken down to prevent further privacy breaches.

Her appearance at the Emmys as a presenter was kept a surprise until the financial representatives walked out on to the stage.

"Y'all using your skills to protect best voiceover on a French sitcom... Meanwhile I'm butt naked on CNN," said Jones, still addressing the accountants, while referencing the scandals.

"I just wanted to feel beautiful y'all. Can a sister feel beautiful?"

Actress Kristen Bell was among the many caught clapping and laughing on-camera as Jones delivered her razor-sharp request. Jones' "Ghostbusters" director Paul Feig weighed in too, as did fashion designer Christian Siriano, who created the custom electric blue jumpsuit she wore to the Emmys:

Following her remarks, Jones left the stage with the accountants, and got the last laugh over those who tried to silence her and bring her down.

Jones appeared to be having a blast at the Emmys, and tweeted her celebratory reaction to her "Saturday Night Live" and "Ghostbusters" castmate Kate McKinnon's win, along with a photo with "Ray Donovan" star Liev Schreiber, who she dubbed her "new crush."

Jones will next appear on the season 42 premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 1.
