Instagram beauty trends can be rather questionable at times (remember foot contouring?), but this is one we can actually get behind.
Our current Instabeauty obsession? Crystal lips, that is, pouts adorned with tiny gemstones such as amethysts, druzy quartz and pyrites.
As seen on New York-based makeup artist Johannah (@beyou.byjoh)'s feed, these dreamy creations are made with a combination of liquid lipsticks, metallic liquid lip colour and tiny crystals, according to Cosmopolitan. Many of them are inspired by pieces of jewelry Johannah loves.
And the results are simply stunning.
Another take on the trend can be seen on Australian MUA Genevieve Jauquet (@genevievejauquet)'s Instagram page, however, hers uses Mehron pigments, flecks of glitter and cut-up sequins to get the look.
Mesmerizing, no?
And at the end of the day, we'd much rather have crystals on our lips than on our feet via Crocs, no matter how difficult it may be to apply, let alone drink and eat with.
