A Simple Trick For Perfect Pumpkin Seeds

So you can roast them up quick!

Cleaning out a pumpkin is a messy job, but someone's gotta do it.

Whether you're hollowing out the squash for your Halloween Jack O' Lantern or simply chopping it up for a soup or side dish, you can bet you'll be elbow deep in pumpkin guts as soon as you cut into the giant gourd.

To cut down on the mess, the experts at Better Homes and Gardens suggest waiting until your pumpkin has reached room temperature before you cut into it. Then, use a metal ladle to scoop and scrape the inside of the pumpkin from bottom up and sides.

But don't make the mistake of tossing out the insides. In the video above by Refinery 29, we learn how to easily separate pumpkin seeds from their guts so you can season and cook them to your heart's desire!
