OTTAWA — The 2015 election didn’t turn out the way Conservative MP Peter Kent expected.
It was not the momentous victory NDP MP Niki Ashton had hoped for.
It wasn’t even the result newly elected Liberal Catherine McKenna was initially prepared for.
The Liberals’ decisive election win last October, propelled Justin Trudeau, the son of a former prime minister, from leader of a third party to head of government. It was certainly a surprise to most political opponents.
To mark the one year anniversary this week, The Huffington Post Canada asked Kent, the MP for Thornhill, Ont., Manitoba MP Ashton, and McKenna, a political neophyte who ran in Ottawa against a popular NDP incumbent, to re-live the election campaign
