'Ferris Bueller' Cast: Alan Ruck Explains Inspiration Behind Famous Scene

There are so many memorable scenes in “Ferris Bueller's Day Off,” but for us, one in particular stands out: when Cameron calls Principal Rooney pretending to be Sloane’s father.

In the video above, actor Alan Ruck, who played Cameron Frye, reveals what inspired his voice for Mr. Peterson.

“Ferris Bueller” was released 30 years ago and became an instant ‘80s classic. Since starring in the film, Ruck has maintained a successful acting career and has appeared in shows such as “NCIS,” “The Whispers” and most recently “The Exorcist.”

Ruck is 60 years old today.
