Brad Pitt Child Abuse Allegations: Actor Won't Be Charged By FBI

"The FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation."

Brad Pitt will not face charges from the FBI regarding an incident that occurred on his family’s private plane in September.

“In response to allegations made following a flight... carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation,” the FBI said in a statement. “No charges have been filed in this matter.”

The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) also ended their investigation earlier this month. “It was a full and thorough investigation and the determination has been made that no charges should be brought,” a source told People magazine.

Child abuse allegations against Pitt surfaced in September after the 52-year-old actor was involved in an altercation with his eldest son, Maddox, aboard a plane. According to TMZ, Pitt allegedly got “verbally abusive” and “physical.” The incident was then reported by an anonymous individual on the tarmac.

Pitt’s wife, Angelina Jolie, filed for divorce a few days after the incident asking for sole physical custody of their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox – and for Pitt to be given visitation.

While the former couple reached a custody agreement earlier this month which gives Jolie sole custody of the children, Pitt is still seeking joint legal and physical custody.
