Canada Has Its Own Fantastic Beasts, According To Library And Archives Canada

Including the Glamour Moose!

Fantastic beasts have taken over cinemas across the globe, but that's not the only place where you'll find them.

In celebration of the international release of J.K. Rowling’s "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Library And Archives Canada has compiled their own list of fictional yet still fantastical beasts native to the Great White North.

"Canada is a land known for its fanciful fauna, but some of our wildest creatures are more elusive than others," the website states before admitting they may have "embellished" their descriptions.

From the Glamour Moose to the Northern Needle-rat to the Feline Sea Lion, watch the video above to learn where some of these supernatural creatures supposedly came from.

This isn't the first time Library and Archives Canada has had some fun with their fans. For April Fools' Day this year, the government sector curated documents claiming Wolverine as a Canadian supersoldier.
