Prince William Supports Prince Harry's Statement About Meghan Markle

There's no conflict here.

Just weeks after Prince Harry released a statement asking the media to leave his new girlfriend alone, Prince William released his own statement in support of his younger brother and Meghan Markle.

"The Duke of Cambridge absolutely understands the situation concerning privacy and supports the need for Prince Harry to support those closest to him," the statement to The Telegraph read.

According to reports, the note was published in response to claims that the second-in-line to the throne was unhappy about his younger brother's decision to publicly confirm his relationship with the actress and humanitarian.

Though the Duke's statement was short, a source close to the Royal Family elaborated, saying: “The Duke was as alarmed as anyone about what was happening with Meghan."

The original statement posted to the Royal Family's website by Prince Harry's secretary noted that a line had been crossed in the coverage of the 32-year-old's private life. "His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment," it read. The statement then went on to call out both public and private instances of sexism and racism geared towards Markle.

Markle has yet to speak out on the relationship herself, however she recently took to her Twitter account to thank some friends for their support.
