TURTLEFORD, Sask. – A fire has destroyed a grain elevator in western Saskatchewan.
The blaze in Turtleford, about 275 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon, erupted around 10 p.m. Tuesday and prompted a response from firefighters in three communities.
Highway 26, which runs through Turtleford, had to be closed for several hours because of smoke and efforts to contain the fire.
Farmer Kelly Baillargeon captured footage of the fire using a drone camera.
Some media reports say electricity in the community was also out for hours.
There was no immediate word on damage.
