Calgary police believe a couple who were found dead by their children in their home overdosed on drugs.
Investigators say a 14-year-old called 911 on Saturday morning.
Three other children, including a four-year-old, were in the house.
The victims, both in their 30s, have not been identified.
Acting detective Jody Cross says Social Services were called in and the children are being looked after.
Cross says drugs were found in the house and police are awaiting the results of tests to determine what type may have been involved.
"Ultimately it comes down to what the medical examiner finds in their toxicology reports,'' he said Monday.
"Drugs are not a good thing to be doing, especially with all the fentanyl-related deaths. None of it is safe at this point.''
