Social media is peppered with tributes to the late Canadian actor Alan Thicke, but none is more meaningful than the one his youngest son, Carter, posted to Twitter.
"Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of [its] finest," wrote the 19-year-old. "I have never known a more kind, loving, hairy, and generous person in my life and I am forever grateful for the light that this man brought to my life and so many others. You will be missed every second of every day. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time."
Carter is the youngest of Thicke's three sons. They were reportedly playing hockey together on Tuesday when the 69-year-old suffered a heart attack.
Turns out, Carter was named after Toronto Blue Jays player Joe Carter.
Thicke's middle son, Robin, the famed "Blurred Lines" singer, also took to social media in honour of his father.
Thicke's oldest son is Brennan, 41, whom he had with first wife Gloria Loring.
