5-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Bathtub In Surrey, B.C.

The death is under investigation.

Police and the B.C. coroner are investigating the death of a boy at a home in Surrey, B.C.

An ambulance was called to the residence near 109th Avenue and University Drive on Sunday evening for a "child that had apparently drowned" in the bathtub, according to a news release from Surrey RCMP.

Paramedics tried to revive the five-year-old for almost an hour but were not successful, said police.

Officers are interviewing the adults in the home to figure out what happened.

UPDATE: The RCMP amended the boy's age to five, after originally reporting that he was six.
