Toronto police are appealing to a man targeted in a shooting and a tow truck driver who was a witness to come forward after a 15-year-old boy was hurt in the crossfire.

On Monday evening, a black Chrysler 300 with horizontal chrome rub rails, silver rims and tinted windows drove into Jamestown Crescent and then stopped near a parking lot.

Police released surveillance video that shows two men leaving the car and running towards another man walking through the lot. From a distance of about 25 feet, the attackers shot "multiple times" at the intended target who was able to get away unhurt, said police.

The suspects returned to their vehicle, and continued to drive westbound along Jamestown Crescent. As it pulled around the corner, passengers in the front and side of the car climbed up and out of the windows, leaned across the roof and started shooting again.

Amid the crossfire, a 15-year-old boy and his younger sister were hiding in the doorway of a townhouse unit, said police. He was shot in the lower abdomen, and has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

They have no regard for life whatsoever. It’s disgusting,” police Supt. Ron Taverner told CP24.

Seeking witnesses

Investigators would like to interview a tow truck driver who was parked near the second shooting. Police are also asking the original target of the attack to come forward so they can talk to him as well.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (416) 808-2300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).

In May 2016, Candice Rochelle Bobb, who was pregnant, was shot while in a vehicle in the Rexdale neighbourhood. Her baby was delivered prematurely via emergency C-section shortly before she died from gunshot wounds.

The occupants of the vehicle were not known to police, but officers said the vehicle was the clear target of the shooting.
