Covergirl's James Charles Says Africa Is A Country With Ebola, Sparks Boycott

You can't make this stuff up.

Covergirl's first male ambassador is under fire after speaking out on his concerns about an upcoming trip to Africa.

James Charles, 17, who recently made headlines for being company's the first male spokesman, sent out a distasteful tweet Thursday morning insinuating he was fearful of getting Ebola by travelling to the continent.

The tweet has since been deleted.

After a few angry replies from readers, Charles tweeted out that he was "extremely sorry," takes "full responsibility and will learn and do better." He then sent out a longer apology.

However, the gesture was short-lived, after the makeup guru referred to Africa as a "country."

*Facepalm*

About an hour later, he sent out yet another apology for his geographic mishap.

"I misspoke & said country because we are traveling specifically to South Africa only," he wrote. "I know Africa is a continent and wanted to post an ACTUAL, GENUINE, apology as soon as physically possible."

"I have a million things in my head right now. I am sorry and want to fix it somehow."

But it doesn't seem as though many people are here for his onslaught of apologies.

Numerous angry Twitter users have had no qualms about calling out the teenager for his statements, and some folks are even threatening to boycott Covergirl all together unless the company drops his contract.

Boy oh boy.

"James Charles’ tweet does not represent COVERGIRL’s perspective. We agree his statements were inappropriate but appreciate that he has issued an apology. We are an inclusive brand and respect all people and cultures."

The company has yet to comment if they will drop Charles as an ambassador for the brand.

Oh, and just as an FYI, Africa has been clear of the virus since 2016. So we're sure he'll be just fine.
