Nick Cannon just won for most eyebrow-raising baby name of 2017 so far.
The “America’s Got Talent” host welcomed his third child with ex-girlfriend and former Miss Arizona U.S.A. Brittany Bell on Tuesday. He then took to Instagram to announce the birth of their baby boy, as well as his name.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning! No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose! #TrueHappiness,” the 36-year-old wrote.
“Welcome to Earth Son! Golden ‘Sagon’ Cannon.”
On Twitter, fans were quick to react with confusion to Cannon’s baby name choice.

Nick could've came up with a better name than that, Golden Cannon sounds like a black version of Golden Corral. pic.twitter.com/OCiarBCCgu

And one even said what we’re all thinking.
Nick Cannon named his second son "Golden" as in Golden Cannon as in that doesn't sound sexual at all nope

Cannon has not yet revealed the inspiration behind his son’s name, but we can bet he had a good reason, considering the meaning behind his other two kids’ names.
Cannon is also a father to five-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, who he had during his marriage to Mariah Carey. The former couple named their daughter Monroe after Carey’s idol Marilyn Monroe, and named their son Moroccan after the Moroccan-inspired décor in Carey’s New York City apartment where Cannon proposed.
