Female Orgasms: Some Women Get Them Less Than Others

Well this seems unfair.

We all know women tend to orgasm less than men, but researchers say some women orgasm even less than others.

According to a study from Indiana University, Chapman University and Claremont Graduate University, heterosexual women have fewer orgasms compared to men, lesbians and bisexual women.

"The fact that lesbian women orgasmed more often than heterosexual women indicates that many heterosexual women could experience higher rates of orgasm," the researchers said.

Based on a study of the oral and manual stimulation of 52,600 Americans, researchers found only 65 per cent of heterosexual women orgasmed compared to 66 per cent of bisexual women, 86 per cent of lesbian women, 88 per cent of bisexual men, 89 per cent of gay men and 95 per cent of heterosexual men.

In accordance with previous studies, the report noted few heterosexual women climaxed as a result of penetration alone. Instead, the study showed women were more likely to orgasm if the sex included passionate kisses, genital stimulation, and oral sex leading up to vaginal intercourse.

Aside from using a little foreplay, the researchers said behaviours like asking for what they want in bed, praising their partner, teasing and fantasizing were all linked to more orgasms.

Scientists say there are many reasons why men and women orgasm differently, from both evolutionary and social stances.

The good news is orgasms don't have to be complicated. According to researchers from Concordia University there are many ways to make a woman orgasm — so start practicing!
