When meeting Queen Elizabeth II there are all sorts of protocols one should follow.
For starters, you should greet the monarch as "Her Majesty," then subsequently refer to her as "ma'am." Don't reach out to the royal either. "They are treated as people set apart from the rest of us, so primarily what it is creating is distance and grandeur," royal historian Kate Williams told the BBC in 2011. "You don't kiss them, you don't touch them, you bow — over and over again."
Other things you probably shouldn't do in front of them is squirm, avoid eye contact and well, have a full-on meltdown.
Two-year-old Alfie Lun probably should have paid attention to the latter: the toddler got an enviable opportunity to meet the monarch on Thursday and blew it.
Standing alongside his mother at the grand opening of a memorial honouring those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, the toddler squirmed and fought with his mother right in front of the queen.
Eventually he managed to get it together and hand a beautiful bouquet to the 90-year-old Elizabeth who seemed unfazed by the boy's meltdown.
Considering the queen's a great-grandmother of seven, we'd bet she's seen her fair share of toddler tantrums.
