We’ve seen our fair share of “Wheel of Fortune” fails, but none have made us facepalm quite as hard as this.
On Tuesday, a contestant named Kevin was one letter away from solving an obvious puzzle. Under the category title, the screen read “A Streetcar Na_ed Desire,” referring to the name of the famous play by Tennessee Williams.
Despite having obvious clues, Kevin decided to go with the letter “K” instead of “M” to solve the puzzle. His guess was then met with awkward silence before host Pat Sajak finally said, “No.”
After another contestant, Lisa, won the round, Sajak joked: “Although you got the right answer, I'd rather see Kevin's play. But that's just me.”
On Twitter, viewers exploded with laughter.
One even joked that “A Street Car Naked Desire” must be an adaptation.
But others simply couldn’t believe the contestant’s horrible flub.
Surprisingly, this wasn’t Kevin’s only flub of the night. In a later puzzle, the screen read “Sticky _icket.” Instead of solving the crossword with the letter “T,” the contestant asked for a “P.”
Again, Twitter couldn’t believe it.
Better luck next time, Kevin!
