Newfoundland Snow Finds Its Way Into Car Left In Gander Airport Parking Lot

Whoops!

File this under "what not to do before you catch a flight."

The poor soul who eventually returns to retrieve their car from the parking lot at the Gander International Airport in Newfoundland is probably going to regret leaving the front windows open a crack.

Terry Budden, an air traffic controller at the airport, shared a few photos to Facebook Thursday, showing a car that fell victim to the town's recent heavy snowfall.

Entire houses in Gander have been buried under the snow — and this car was almost buried, too, from the inside.

Lucky for the (still unidentified) owner, the airport authority convinced an employee at Mazda to come unlock the car so they could clean out the snow-filled vehicle.

"This would have been messy if they snow inside the vehicle had gotten a chance to melt," Budden wrote.

You can say that again.
