Canada's Most In-Demand And Hardest-To-Fill Tech Jobs, According To Indeed

Simply put, you'll want "developer" in your title.

Canada is in desperate need of tech workers.

A study released last year found the country will create an estimated 218,000 new tech jobs by 2020, but there aren’t enough people with the right skills to fill them.

Canada’s education system is graduating about 29,000 new tech workers a year, but needs to graduate around 43,000 to keep up with demand, the study estimated.

The federal government is aware of the problem. It responded last month with the Global Skills Strategy — essentially an expansion of the foreign worker visa program, making it easier and faster to bring high-skilled workers into the country.

But for those already in Canada and considering a career in tech, job search site Indeed has compiled lists of the most in-demand and the hardest-to-fill tech jobs in the country.

Long story short, developers are both the most sought-after employees, and the hardest positions to fill are developer roles as well.
