Cougars On SkyTrain Trigger Intrusion Alarm On Evergreen Line (Video)

"It's not uncommon to see wildlife on the system."

Well, you sure don't see this every day.

Two cougars rambled onto the SkyTrain tracks early Friday, triggering an intrusion alarm at Inlet Station in Port Moody, B.C.

TransLink's closed-circuit cameras, which monitor what could set off the alarms, recorded the pair walking along the guideway on the Evergreen Line.

Staff checked the line before the morning commute began and did not find the animals, said TransLink. Officials are not sure how the animals got inside but will be checking fencing for holes or obvious entry points.

While it's the first time cougars have been on the line, TransLink said "it's not uncommon to see wildlife on the system," like coyotes and raccoons.
