Elle Brazil's Latest Cover Features A Same-Sex Couple, And It's Gorgeous

This is a win!

To celebrate it's 29th anniversary issue, Elle Brazil didn't go with the status quo. Instead, the glossy decided to take a progressive approach by featuring a same-sex couple on their latest cover.

The magazine shared a photo of the issue on Instagram Thursday.

"In a world that seems to be increasingly divided, affection, collectivity, partnership, empathy and, above all, love are values in which Elle believes," the caption read, translated from Portuguese. "In today’s fashion it has not been different: collaborative collections, family ties, loaded pieces of symbolic value, and passionate speeches guide this new moment when the heart speaks louder than anything else."

This cover arrives on the heels of an uptick in anti-gay and hate-motivated attacks since the country legalized same-sex marriage in 2013. The New York Times reported last year that at least one gay or trans person is killed every day in the South American nation.

This isn't the first time Elle Brazil has made strides to feature LGBTQ-inclusive content.

For their November 2016 issue, the company featured Brazilian transgender model Valentina Sampaio on its cover, clad in a navy blue bathing suit.

The fashion pub's "Fall In Love" theme also features two additional covers as well. One features a diverse girl gang, and another resembles a fairytale love affair.

Elle Brazil's latest issue is available on newsstands now.
