I can see that as an invention, the Kindle's shelf-life is limited. I can't imagine my children wanting one--and that's not because they don't read or dislike books.
In declining Notre Dame's award, Mary Ann Glendon is suggesting that Obama may be president but he is not her president, or the Catholics' president -- a highly divisive and anti-democratic sentiment.
In the coming four years, conservatives will have to oppose the Obama administration on many fronts. But let's not imitate the past eight years of political opposition. We are better than that.
