Dispatches From Down East: My Life as Anne of Green Gables

| Posted 06.02.2012 | Canada Living

I am glad I can laugh about my Anne-likeness. There are worse protagonists to model one's life after. And it sure does make for a jolly good story for everyone to chuckle over. If I wasn't so accident-prone and clumsy, like our Anne with an "e", what a boring existence it would be.

Dispatches From Down East: Outliers in the Classroom

| Posted 06.09.2012 | Canada Living

I must write about this: A friend and I had a conversation this evening about a high school student with a noteworthy caliber of dedication to his passion in life: sports. 2012-06-26-canadaflag.png Canada is unpredictable. And no clearer example of this can be found than in our variable weather conditions (especially where I live out East). But although the weather is unpredictable, we know how to look on the bright side. Rather than glass half empty, it's a cuppa Red Rose tea half full, eh!

Dispatches From Down East: Perspective Comes From the Strangest Places

| Posted 06.30.2012 | Canada Living

Life is all about perspective, right? So with the goal of shifting perspectives in mind, I set out this warm sunlit evening to find a little piece of joy in nature so as to cast some perspective and illumination on an otherwise expensive ($2,200 worth of upcoming dental work), depressing (there goes the camper we were going to buy) and discouraging (I am wondering if false teeth are an option for a 38-year-old mother of four) day.
