Is it Time to Trade Blowjobs for Housework?

| Posted 02.04.2013 | Canada Living

I told my brother-in-law, that at my house blowjobs are given out for hung-up jackets. Without even lifting his head, he scoffed, "Oh, if that were only true!" He was right. Sadly, it is not true. Would BJs be enough to train his brain to think, "Hmmm, this jacket doesn't go on the floor, maybe I'll put it in the closet"? I don't know.

I'm Fertile. I Want to Adopt. Don't Call Me a Baby Thief

Do You Have a Don Draper Complex?

| Posted 02.20.2013 | Canada Living

Don Draper cheats on his wife, never does any housework, hardly spends time with his kids -- he shouldn't be sexy, but he is. It's OK. Haven't we all been there at some point in time? If your Don Draper hasn't committed or changed his nasty ways yet, he probably won't ever.

How Having a "Type" Almost Made Me Miss Out on Love

| Posted 02.22.2013 | Canada Living

By the age of 34, I was somewhat of an expert on "types." I had dated them all. I have been like a casting director in my own dating show. That was when I first went out with Andrew. He was so nice -- too nice -- and I thought, this is not going to be exciting enough. He's a nice guy. So, I didn't return any of Andrew's calls and that was that...until.

Anxiety in Children: Are We To Blame?

| Posted 02.26.2013 | Canada Living

You cannot flip open a newspaper, a magazine or scan Facebook without noticing the rise in anxiety and depression amongst young teens and adults. Many articles call it an epidemic, documented by a severe spike in suicides, prescriptions and counselling appointments on university campuses. I'm seeing that the new literature is calling for a change in how we parent and coach our kids in the early years. We cannot start the inoculation in their teens; the time is now.
