Are You a Fan of Michelle Phan?

Someone I know showed me Michelle Phan's YouTube video Draw My Life. This is one of the most beautiful short videos I have ever seen. (It has over a millioin views.) Michelle Phan is now famous for her own line of makeup and her makeup artistry tutorial videos. However, in this video, she uses a whiteboard and sketches to tell the story of her early years, which were both happy and sad, especially where the fathers in her life, let the family down.

Michell fought back through practicing her beautiful art, and her story, is so encouraging and strengthening, for both young and old alike.

I asked this someone I know, that I hope she does not mind, if I attend church as often as I can, because I really think it helps me be a better father? And she said that was OK.

Sometimes I wonder if this positive sociological effect of the Christian faith; encouraging fathers to be better fathers, could be an excuse for public school officials, to bring back real Christmas carols, for the public school Christmas concert. The beautiful music and story of Christmas will not hurt or convert the students. On the contrary, the intent of the public school officials could be, the vested interest of the schools and society, in the "proven" sociological effect, "of some faith" encouraging the fathers in attendance, to be better fathers.

The intellectual elite, now that they have won everything they could ever want to win democratically, do not have to believe the Christian faith, to "use" the Christian faith or any faith, for its positive sociological effect.

And from my perspective, as an average Christian, anyone who is not contempt full of the Christian faith is actually "for us." From my perspective, what I really want, is not to let anyone trick the general public into being contempt full of:

1 Corinthians Ch. 13

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Ephesians 4:31-32

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

For who in their right mind would ever be contempt full of the above. However we all know some people who are, perhaps because we live in "two solitudes" where we seldom, if ever, communicate.

Michelle Phan, concludes her beautiful video this classic quote, that is so encouraging and stregthening for us all. "To the world you may be just one person; but to one person, you may be the world."

P.S. Someone I know, has also shown me this Blimey Cow video, (only 100,000 views), that if you do not have a Christian background, will boldly take you, with humour, where you have never gone before.
