Bill Daniels

International Vice-President of IBEW Canada, proudly representing all IBEW Local Unions in Canada & our 67,000 + members from coast to coast

Bill Daniels is the International Vice President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) First District, which encompasses all Local Unions across Canada. Born in Fort William, Ontario, Bill is an inside wireman by trade, joining the IBEW in 1977.

Bill was an active member in his Local Union holding several trustee positions including a health and welfare and pension. Bill later became Business Manager of Local 402, Thunder Bay in 1990. During this time, Bill was also elected the President of the IBEW Construction Council of Ontario.

In 2003 Bill was appointed as an International Representative for the First District, servicing the construction Local Unions across Ontario. In 2012, Bill was appointed the Executive Assistant to the International Vice President, before being appointed International Vice President in May, 2013

Bill C-377, the Anti-Union Bill, Is Back

Some may recall the last time they heard about Bill C-377, Conservative Senator Hugh Segal shot holes through the Bill, questioned its constitutionality, and then made several amendments that were passed in the Senate on June 26, 2013. The Bill returned to the Senate upon their return after prorogation in the fall of 2013 and was left on the backburner, until now.
