Since being diagnosed more than 6 years ago Dan has seen his life go from ordinary to extraordinary. During his battle and victory against Prostate Cancer Dan has dedicated his time to making a difference in the lives of those going through this disease in addition to doing his part to raise awareness one reader at a time.

Dan was invited in June 2010 to participate in a web site being developed by Abbott Labs. This web site serves to educate, support and provide education to those beginning their journey. In addition Dan’s image has also been added to a photographic exhibition of Prostate Cancer survivors developed by Photo Sensitive and features 100 images and will tour the country in 2011 and 2012.

Dan has been interviewed on radio, television and newspapers across Canada in support of his story and is sought after as a speaker and master of ceremonies for many organizations.

I Was Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer, Now What?

I received a call in early January 2006 telling me that I had prostate cancer and suggesting a treatment -- surgery. As a 49-year-old healthy and, yes, hockey playing Canadian, cancer was the last thing on my mind Well they say things happen for a reason but I was having trouble figuring out just what that meant.
