Dave is a MSc student in St. John's, NL. When he's not studying neurons, he applies his energies into volunteering with non-profit groups in the community. Dave writes a monthly column on the relationship between Science and Culture in for The Scope (St. John's Arts and Culture magazine). He also currently serves as the Chair of the Board for the St. John's Farmers' Market Co-op. When all else fails, you can usually find him hiking out on a trail someplace.

Katima-Cut

It should come as no surprise that the Harper Conservatives used their first majority-government budget to kill the Katimavik program. The government did so because Katimavik's mandate is to engage youth and foster community, and the Conservatives don't support these goals.
