Erol Vekil is a Canadian and President of Gesturetek Systems Inc., an innovative gesture technologies company based in Toronto (inventors of the gesture recognition software in Microsoft Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation). He has been with the company since nine years and previously has managed four companies worldwide. He has lived in several countries and has been exposed to many different cultures and work environments throughout his career. Erol has also participated in various organizations including business ethics, social justice and gender equality.
The truth is most of us cannot achieve a majority of our dreams and just when we think we did, we realize that there's still something hollow and unfulfilling within our inner selves. We are fed constantly with an unrealistic philosophy of optimism; one of the many defensive strategies conjured to fill the void created in one's inner self. The notion that life is auspicious and alluring has to be embedded into our minds in order to deflect and distract us from the epilogue.
Let me start saying that from my "experience," and that's what this article is all about (not expertise), probably most of my visits to doctors and specialists as a patient have been a waste of my time, plus a misuse of all kind of resources depending on where one is living and what kind of insurance one would have.
We need to cultivate generations of young adults who have been educated through an unbiased curriculum that has helped them understand how the world works today, and how it actually should when they take on their roles as global citizens.
The world, the universe, the quantum universes, and the quantum of the quantum ones will continue existing for trillions of years, possibly infinite, so the life you proclaimed to have lived well, in its size, will not even come close to a grain of sand in a vast endless desert.
It all started when Terry Bollea a.k.a. Hulk Hogan filed a defamation suit against Gawker Media some time ago. It was later established (by admission) that the billionaire PayPal founder Peter Thiel was paying the legal expenses for Hogan (Bollea) because he did not approve of Gawker's journalistic ethics.
It's not hard for me to foresee a very near future when movie directors would have their total cast made up of lifelike digital actors and actresses who would not only act how they were scripted to, but also not get a penny for their work.
Unless the world unites as a federation, as a whole, it will be very difficult to stop our future generations to suffer calamities on a proportion which this globe has never been exposed to before. One example is climate change. New models now predict the possibility of flooding occurring at major cities at a much faster pace than was thought before.
