Heidi Wilk is a mother of three, wife and a dietitian who works full-time in a downtown Toronto hospital. In 2008, her husband, Matthew, was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiform, the most common and deadliest of brain cancers. She has recently started sharing her own personal struggles, how she has overcome them and the important life lessons she has learned as result. When My Husband Was Diagnosed With Brain Cancer I Became a Caregiver

Six years ago, my husband Matthew was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiform, the most common and deadliest of brain cancers. As Matthew's primary caregiver, I've come to recognize that coping in the face of a terminal illness is a learned skill, and sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what works.
