Mira Oreck

Director of Public Engagement, Broadbent Institute

Mira Oreck is the Director of Public Engagement for the Broadbent Institute.

Before joining the Institute, Mira has worked as a senior strategist and organizer on high-profile campaigns in both the United States and Canada. As a vice president at Moore+Associates in New York City, Mira managed the production and launch of several campaigns, including the award-winning videos 'Wake the F*ck Up' and 'Let My People Vote', which supported the election of current US President Barack Obama in 2012.

Previously, Mira served in Vancouver as the Director of Canadian Jewish Congress, Pacific Region. Mira also played instrumental roles in the provincial and municipal elections of the current Mayor of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson, serving as his executive assistant and senior strategist.

Mira currently serves as a member of the City of Vancouver Renters Advisory Committee, on the boards of the PuSh International Performing Arts festival, Adler University and as a member of the ROI Community of Global Jewish innovators.

Mira holds a Master's degree in Urban Policy from The New School in New York City, and a B.A. in Sociology from McGill University in Montreal.
