Nahid Ghani

Mother, Research Fellow, Translator, Instructor

Nahid Ghani is a research fellow at Simon Fraser University, the Centre for the Comparative Study of Muslim Societies and Cultures working in the field of Iranian national identity, archeology and museology.

Her PhD dissertation from the University of Tehran, in the field of ancient culture and languages, was “Marriage laws in ancient Iran according to Zoroastrian Jurisprudence." In 2011, she was invited to participate in summer school at the University of Hamburg which was related to her M.A. dissertation “An inspection of some old Jewish-Persian Texts," published in 2009. Her scholastic education encompasses a number of various areas that fall under the heading of culture, women’s study, religion, linguistics and history.

She has been an instructor for more than 20 years and has worked with people from different age groups, ethnicity and with academic and professional background.
