Richard Smith

A Quebec-born businessman and educator as well as a contributing author to the 1991 Doubleday book English Canada Speaks Out.

Richard W. Smith is a sixth-generation Quebecer and Irish citizen who as an educator and businessman has worked in Canada, Germany and Japan. He has published articles on constitutional, language and educational policies in major Canadian newspapers and was a contributing essayist to the 1991 Double Day book English Canada Speaks Out.

He has been invited to brief cabinet ministers at both the federal level and Quebec level politics on constitutional and language policy. From 1998-1999 he served as a director of the former Alliance Quebec as well as the vice-president of the Greater Quebec Movement (1996-2006). He holds a degree in history from the University Of Western Ontario.
