Film Producer

Stephen Traynor is a Toronto-based film producer. He joined The Film Farm as a producing partner in 2012 but has been working closely with The Film Farm line-producing the feature films Luck (Peter Wellington), Redacted (Brian De Palma), Adoration (Atom Egoyan), and Chloe (Atom Egoyan). A twenty-four year veteran in the film industry, other credits include the Academy Award-nominated Incendies (Denis Villleneuve) and Inch’Alla (Anais Barbeau-Lavalete) as well as two films for Deepa Mehta (Heaven on Earth and Midnight’s Children).

Along with Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss he produced The Captive directed by Atom Egoyan and starring Ryan Reynolds, Scott Speedman and Rosario Dawson. The Captive has been selected to screen in competition at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes Film Festival Diary 2014 -- The Captive

Sorry for the delay in writing my final entry in my Cannes diary. It's been a whirlwind of activity since Saturday. We've shifted from competition-mode directly into market-mode, meeting with back-to-back meetings with sales agents, financiers and other potential co-producers for future projects.

Cannes Film Festival Diary 2014

Let the games begin. Checked in to our usual hotel on Wednesday. We had intended to have a fairly quiet night first meeting with some of the team at the bar at the Majestic Hotel and then a quick dinner at our favourite Cannes restaurant Da Laura. It seems that a lot of people had the same idea

Cannes Film Festival Diary 2014

This is my fourth trip to the Cannes Film Festival but this year it's different. I'm told that having a film screening at the Cannes Film Festival especially in the prestigious Official Selection section of the festival is like sitting at the cool kid's table and access will magically appear.
