Stylist and decorator Tamara Robbins Griffith loves to talk design trends and share insights into inspired design, clever home décor solutions and affordable dreams. As a new mom, she strives to tote her babe in style without breaking the bank, and maintains that a little one doesn't necessitate cluttering up the home with brightly coloured plastic.

As the former managing editor at Style at Home and design spokesperson for IKEA Canada, Tamara has produced fresh and innovative floral and home décor stories for national magazines such as Style at Home, Canadian Living, Canadian Family, Fashion and Canadian Gardening. Her design work has also been featured in The National Post, The Globe & Mail and on Apartment Therapy.

Tamara has appeared on television shows such as CityLine, Breakfast Television, Global Morning, Pure Design, Three Takes, Kitchen Equipped, CHCH Morning Live, Rogers Daytime and Urban Rush.

Drawing on her past experience as a floral designer, Tamara has taught many workshops on floral design, in addition to presenting decorating/floral seminars at trade shows such as Canada Blooms, Toronto Fall Home Show and The Seasons Christmas Show. Tamara brings her unique sense of style and flair to everything she does and always enjoys sharing her styling secrets!

It's once that babe gains some skills that you may need to rethink your home as a whole and get down to the brass tacks of baby-proofing.

Put a Bird on it: Six Wallpapers for a Sophisticated Nursery

I have decorated many nurseries and not one of them has featured cartoon characters or highly gender-specific colour palettes, but I like to think they were all successfully executed rooms, resulting in happy clients -- both parents and babies. What they do all have in common is wallpaper.

Haute Baby Gear: Just for Mom?

It started with a mobile. A gift from our new baby's grandparents. And of course, I stepped in to voice some approved choices. Something sleek... perhaps thin, die-cut bamboo. Then I realized that I'd not been selecting toys based on HIS preferences. I had been selecting what I thought would look the nicest in our home.
